Born on India’s Malabar Coast, this extraordinary Arabica undergoes the legendary monsooning process — a centuries-old tradition in which ocean winds and seasonal monsoon rains gently transform the beans, swelling them to a pale golden hue while mellowing their acidity. The result is a coffee unlike any other: rare, storied, and profoundly smooth.
The medium roast reveals a harmonious balance of warm spice, toasted grain, and velvety cacao, layered with hints of cedar and soft earthiness. Its hallmark low acidity lends a silken, almost wine-like body, carrying a finish that is both enduring and refined.
Brewing Recommendations:
Indian Monsoon is an espresso roast. Monsooned Malabar beans have lower acidity and higher solubility, so a fine grind might over-extract and emphasize too much bitterness. Try using a slightly coarse grind than usual. Double shot dose: aim for 18-20g of coffee to yield about 36g of espresso, with an extraction time of 25-30 seconds.
